So here’s the thing, I never thought I would be posting a five star review for service at a bank. Like many of us in Dubai I have dealt with many banks and it’s frankly painful, cumbersome (to be polite) and impersonal. It’s true, as some have posted, the bank internal policies don’t make sense, and seem illogical at times. Particularly when buying or selling a property the whole system between banks should be more efficient, more transparent and clear. Each bank has different policies and they simply don’t marry up.
I wonder how much that costs the economy due to the simple deals that fall through due the lack of speed, accountability and alacrity that banks have when dealing with such matters.
However, I am delighted to post five stars here as the team on the ground at Al Quoz has been wonderful, kind, patient and made a massive difference to my transaction actually getting completed on time.
A special mention goes to Sarrah who is a testament as to how great customer service can make a massive impact. My sincere thanks to her and all involved.

I’ve been using this bank for 5 years, and honestly, I’ve never seen such poor service. First of all, they have almost no ATMs in the city. If you need to deposit cash or send money to someone

I’ve been using this bank for 5 years, and honestly, I’ve never seen such poor service. First of all, they have almost no ATMs in the city. If you need to deposit cash or send money to someone in cash, you’ll have to drive around the whole city just to find one of their 2 or 3 ATMs. It’s ridiculous. Other banks, like NBD, have ATMs literally everywhere – super easy and convenient.
Second, I made an international transfer on Friday, and today is already Monday, and still no update, no money sent, nothing. They claim international transfers take “up to 3 working days” – seriously? This is 2025.
To make it worse, I always used the PaySend app for fast international transfers — it was instant and reliable. Then one day, it just stopped working. I contacted PaySend and they told me the issue is from my bank’s side. I called CBD Bank, and they said for “security reasons” my bank (CBD) blocked it. And now I can’t even send money through PaySend.
Unacceptable. I’m beyond frustrated. CBD needs to seriously upgrade their services or risk losing loyal customers.

Operation process is too much slow, token system is not organized. No proper guidance from 1st point of contact. Overall a messy environmemt, no staff has value for customers time.

Their bank policies are weird. Even if you are having the authorisation letter from the company, they will call again the owner for confirmation. If they have to call, what is the use of this letter and stamp ?.

Please send all of your customer service team to Emirates NBD for a month training, they will teach you that how to deal and handle a customer in a proper way

Come back the following week (today) take a token, get called, and i ask to close my account immediately, im told to go to reception. Go to the reception, where im told we dont do account closures here, just dont use your account for 2 months it will close on its own. Why all this misinformation, and why tell me to come back after a week, or even send me to reception if you dont even offer the service im looking for. The impression is your team either have no clue about procedures or are just plain lazy.

Went upstairs to inquire about my mortgage and some man told me to sit in a free office...I was completely ignored for 20 minutes as people just walked by. I finally left. From the moment I approached the representative, it was evident that they had little interest in assisting me. Their demeanor was dismissive, and they seemed more preoccupied with their own tasks than addressing my concerns. When I attempted to explain my issue, the employee was impatient and did not bother to listen attentively, displaying a blatant disregard for customer needs.
Furthermore, when I requested assistance with a banking transaction, the representative was unhelpful and failed to provide adequate guidance. Instead of offering solutions or clarifying the process, they simply brushed off my inquiries with vague responses, leaving me feeling confused and uncertain about the next steps.
What struck me most was the complete lack of professionalism and empathy displayed by the customer service employee. Their attitude towards customers was discourteous, and it was evident that they lacked the necessary skills to effectively communicate and assist clients.
