I have been banking in the UAE for as along as i had my business here . My City bank relationship is fairly new but it has exceeded my expectations. I had few requests ( major and minor) and they were both met with absolutely perfection . I went to the branch and the Manager Mr Kiani asked me about my request and took care of it on the spot . I went few days after for another issue and the whole team was above and beyond perfect. Important to say i came on the weekend when it was less busy and hectic for everyone.
I am very pleased with the service and thankful for everyone at Al wasl branch .

I came to deposit money for a credit card and found that the team here were very ill informed and then I was directed to the customer service manager who used a loud and heavy tone with me as she wanted to assert her authority and left me with limited options without the willingness to hear my situation and only recanting charter statements and then belittled me by stating I wasn't an account holder which I felt was very demeaning. This branch ratings speaks alot for the quality of service provided. My child also told me that the lady was loud and bossy. Children know better it seems. Anyways the experience at the facility is better when it's closed.

Regardless of that the bank simply blocked my account without any explanations. Later after couple of weeks they requested to update KYC, which I did. But till now after 5 months of waiting, they haven't unblocked my account and never explained what is missing in my documents. It's like talking to a wall.

I faced issues with missing investment payouts, and upon inquiry, was told I needed to collect a cheque in person. When I did, the cheque was over seven months old—and no other bank would accept it. Why Citi couldn’t simply deposit it into my account remains a mystery.
To make matters worse, my account was blocked because Citibank’s verification machine couldn’t read my UAE ID. Every other bank verifies using UAE Pass—but Citi seems to be a few years behind. This kind of outdated process is unacceptable in today’s banking environment.
There has been pathetic follow-up, unnecessary account restrictions, and a clear drop in service after account opening. They’re super active and eager during onboarding, but it’s all downhill from there.
This was a mistake, and I’m now in the process of closing my account. Once bitten, twice shy.

The handling of this situation is far below the standards I expected from a reputable institution.
Additionally, the wait time for phone banking is completely unacceptable, often exceeding 15 minutes. It’s disheartening to see a company of this calibre leading the way in poor customer service. This experience has been nothing short of disappointing.

Being a client of another bank, I wanted to withdraw money from your bank's ATM in the Mall of the Emirates, the ATM blocked the card, I called the support service, it was Friday, the next week I was at work. As I was told at the branch of your bank, my card was cut up 2 working days after it was blocked in the ATM. The worst service, they caused me a lot of problems and I wasted a lot of time, I do not recommend, I avoid this bank

They won’t ever answer your calls or texts, but that’s to be expected when apparently the training they go through is being dropped on their damn heads. I highly recommend you stay away from this bank especially if you have any considerable wealth.

Last case: i had fraud transactions on my credit card, couldn’t break through the call center nor through relationship manager. Finally after a week of endless conversations i visited this branch and you know what? Answer is “you can do it through call center”.
